I forgot that there is recorded version of Spell with Bill Frisell on "Blues Connotation"-cd played as instrumental, which is similar but not same arrangement.

Henk, I worked the changes for the song bit over the weekend. I used Malach-version for reference where chords are mostly played with Russell Ferrante. This is notated in 6/8 time.

Into: "Riff" -> Fm7 -> Ebmaj9 -> A13b9 - D7#9#5

| Gm7 | Fm11 | Ebmaj7 | D7#9#5 |
| Gm7 | Fm11 | Eb9 | D7#9#5 |
|| Cm9 | Cm9maj7 | Cm9 | Cm6/9 (F13)|
| Am7 | Am7 | Bb/Ab | Ab7 |
|| Gm7 |Gm7 | Bb13sus4 | E7#9b5 | Dm7 Db13 |
| Cm7 Cm7/Bb | Am11 D7 | Ebmaj7 | Dm7 Db13 |
| Am11 Ab7b5 | Gm7 Ab/Bb | Bb/C -> "Riff"

There are lots of chords, for sure !! They are quite similar to Ain't Got Nothing But Blues and Worried Life Blues. These are fingerings I would use (string number from the top in parenthesis):

Fm7 : Eb(2), Ab (3), F (4)
Ebmaj9 : F(2), D(3), Bb(4), Eb(5)
A13b9 : Bb(1), F#(2), C#(3), G(4), A(5)
D7#9#5 : Bb(1), F(2), C(3), F#(4), D(5)
Fm11 : Bb(1), G(2), Eb(3), Ab(4), F(5)
Cm9 : D(2), Bb(3), Eb(4), C(5)
Cm9maj7 : D(2), B(3), Eb(4), C(5)
Cm6/9 :D(2), A(3), Eb(4), C(5)
Bb13sus4 : Bb(1), G(2), Eb(3), Ab(4), Bb(6)
E7#9b5 : Bb(1), G(2), D(3), G#(4), E(5)
Am11 : D(2), C(3), G(4), A(6)
Ab7b5 : D(2), C(3), Gb(4), AB(6)
Ab/Bb : Eb(2), C(3), Ab(4), Bb(6)
Bb/C : F(2), D(3), Bb(4), C(6)

If there are mistakes please let me know! Hope this helps.

About that 1991 Koono show: I have it too and I find it fascinating that when camera pans over Robbens equipment it seems that there is a Dumble behind Fender combo but the combo is clearly miked. Maybe it is used only as speaker cabinet?

I've noticed that "The Way You Treated Me" from "Blue Moon" is a similar type progression, too.

You could just take bits and pieces from each, and make up a completely new song.

I'd call it "I Can't Spell Nothin', And It Worries The Life Out of Me."

Wow, Sampo! You sure put a lot of work into that. I can't wait to get home and try it out!

Thanks!
