Hey all, it's Friday afternoon down here in New Zealand and after a hard week at work I am kick'n back to some live Jing Chi and a couple of beers. I feel though my music collection needs a little injection of something new and exicting. I tend to be a little outa touch of who's doin good things in the Jazz/Blues world living all the way down here in NZ?
I love Jazz/Blues fusion so can anyone recommend to me some artists or music I should be check'n out? Any good new artists out there in the same calibre as Robben?
Thanks in advance,
ford427. |

then there is this Oz Noy guy...he plays some mean guitar. Very challenging harmonic-and-rhythmic wise...
Worth checking out. |

Check out Scott Henderson's more blues-slanted recordings: Dog Party, Tore Down House, and Well to the Bone. |

For Junkyard Jazz, a.k.a. Swamp Funk, I like JJ Grey & Mofro. Listen at:

Although not typical of RF tone and style, this music is similar to Gabe Ford's "Too Much" _________________ Travelling by train of thought |

My thoughts as well. Took me a while to get used to his singing, but after I few listens, I really love this (2 disc) release. Everything from full-rage Hendrixism to beautiful, lyrically jazzy instrumentals. Great playing from everyone involved. |
