The opportunity may arise that I could shoot some pictures and video of Robbin live. I know no flash, but does he allow amature video. The other part of it is when you do pictures and or video, you put on the photographers hat and miss enjoying a lot of the show. I want to make sure I dont step on any toes.

I quote, Robben from when I saw him at the Coach House in August of '06.

"Hey...what's that? *points to guy hiding video camera* What's that little red light? We made an announcement about that, why don't you just turn it off."

I think he's totally against the videos...on the other hand I am totally in favor of them Smile
By the way, there were some nice ones added to Robben's site earlier this year.

I wouldn't try the video. That's definitely against Robben's rules. He wouldn't care about a few non-flash pics from your seat, but no getting up near the stage or anything like that. Then you're a distraction and that wouldn't be cool.

What a show in Nevada City. I didn't do any pictures or video I wanted to respect Robbens wishes and just enjoy the show. The kick was that I was able to be in the room while the band was going thur there sound check in the afternoon. So, there was me in the middle of the room sitting in a chair and the band playing for quite awhile, ouch it was good. I was really impressed with the time spent getting the monitors just right for the band. I wish when my band played we could take that much time. Robben was very loose and casually dressed at the sound check sounded great. Then at the preformance he wore a gray suite, personaley I like the loose fitting shirts and the casual look he seems to cut loose when hes casual, Gary Novak rocks he lost four sticks, one which went across the stage passed behind Robben and almost into the hands of Patrick Ford who was sitting of stage. It was a great evening except for the fact that Daved wasnt there. Would have been nice to say hi.

I ws at the Nevada City show also, in the 3rd row right in front of Robben. Unfortunately in the 2nd row was someone who I can only describe as an abnoxious non- fan who had a flash camera AND a video camera on his lap. Other than scream insults in between some songs, he took flash and video despite Robben's requests not to. It got to the point where there was almost an altercation with the fans around who tried to stop him. Daved- you could have stepped in an put this guy in his place. Larry Carlton's guitar tech- who was there with Robben-I don't think does those "above and beyond the call of duty tasks" as you do.
Nonetheless, the show was very good although I prefer Tom or Hilary to Gary Novak on drums...

Urias, How rude was he, between songs yelling Play Some Real Blues, right in Robbens face. It was my good friend in the front row who reached around and put his arm around the guy and said a few explicit things in his ear and it stopped. Yeah Lonnie. I thought Robben was very gracious in the way he dealt with it. There is always one in every crowd.
