Hello Anne:
I especially enjoy the instructional dvd and the .pdf file with examples. This is terrific. I cannot wait for the next dvd. For me, this is the best contribution.
I'm not sure if a charity auction could work. The opportunity of a preferred member to purchase a special item would be of interest and could help a charity of Robben's choice.
On a side note: I'm always glad when Robben plays at Yoshi's as they welcome young musicians. I wish there were more opportunities in such venues. Today's young talent needs the opportunity to appreciate.
I don't want to spoil the party, but take a look at everything that Larry Carlton offers up to his fans at Mr.335tV- without a charge. The bar is set pretty high....

Thanks for having summarized the whole thing up.
There is a lot of new techniques & tools for webmasters, and a lot of webmasters are really creative. That should give us a lot of pleasure with or without charges. The main idea when running a website, apart selling stuff is to get exposure, the more the best; ....so giving a lot of different stuff to enjoy without necessarly loggin' in, or paying will be the best .
Effectively i checked The L.Carlton site last week and spent two hours listening & watching music.Basically i was there just for checking tour information, you get the idea ... _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_music.cfm?bandID=147748

This isn't necessarily an idea for "inner circle," but I'd like to see "easy guitar" arrangements published for "Truth." Maybe not every song on the CD, but there are great songs on "Truth" that a lot of amateur guitar players would enjoy learning. The Hal Leonard (and Warner Bros.) song books are too much detail for some players. _________________ Travelling by train of thought

RW as usual you give a good idea of what might be realfun for fans & lurkers, a real simple thing to do (i think so, pdf files). Simple charts , not scores , may be like the material given during the clinics. Or like in guitar player magazin, the tip of the month, scale of the month , feng shui of scales etc............................. _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_music.cfm?bandID=147748

Exactly. Some "simple" charts done up "Real Book" style (one or two pages) would be great. Given enough time, I can cop solo lines by listening, but it's a real challenge for me to pick out complex changes by ear. Yeah, it's good practice, and I have a day job, so being able to have a quick set of charts would be great.
Jazz pianist/singer/compose extraordinaire Patricia Barber has done this with her own tunes--selling them as either PDF downloads or (at about twice the cost) hard copies by mail. See the bottom of this page for what I'm talking about:
