I've been lurking for years here and at the old message board.Hello to everyone. This is the ultimate meeting spot for RF fans.
I first heard of Robben Ford from the Tom Scott and the L.A. Express albums I purchased in the early 70's.
I've been playing music since grade school when Mom bought me my first instrument (Clarinet).Dropped that after seeing The Beatles on Ed Sullivan(sounds like a familiar story). Took up first drums (still have my old badge Ludwigs), then Mom deducted my allowance so I could purchase '67 Jazz Bass, next brand new '70 Martin D-18.
In a more recent decade I've been fortunate to add '63 P-Bass,'62 Reissue Jazz Bass,'62 Reissue Strat, and a 2002 American Deluxe Tele.
Why register on this board now? I'm hittin' the road for 5 Robben shows in a 10 day period.(Jan.30 Santa Barbara,Jan.31 San Diego,Feb.1 Santa Ana,Feb.2 Agoura Hills, and Feb.8 Crystal Bay(Lake Tahoe). So, I'm hoping to maybe contribute to this Board instead of just lurking around.

Mono Lake Dave make the show in Nevada City on the Feb 7th, an hour from Tahoe. Maybe you'll set a record for the number of Robben shows in ten days?

I just got dragged into the computer age as far as owning one. (actually it was the wife's Christmas gift) So, I'm bringing it with us with the plan of reporting from "The Road".
I'm not good at setlists or song titles. I prefer to kinda be in the moment while the music's there, and then just imagine the vibrations careening out to eternal space. (don't need no flash photo, autograph,or RF blingbling)Just the immediate and "while it's happening" music. I have seen the gear, guitars, and boots before so I'll attempt some quasi-music-on-line-journalism-ing.
I haven't purchased the new CD Truth yet, thinking "Hey maybe I should go in with fresh ears. Now I'm thinking maybe I should try to find it on the way to Santa Barbara and get up to speed.
Are there really left AND right shoes?
ML Dave

Now That is a Métaphysical thought. This is a real question , something that makes u realize about how lucky we are to own a brain .Someone told me last week there was no right shoes until 19th century....If you think about gloves that is very strange,

No that can't be right - otherwise it would mean everybody had been walking around in circles for thousands of years.

I'm pretty sure that some have been walking around in circles for thousands of years - but I mention no names!

Now I come to think about it, Frank's quite right. And you can always spot those who live on the steep slopes of the Andes - they all have one leg considerably shorter than the other.

In french popular "mythology" we have this , it is called the Dahu , it lives in the steep slopes of the alpes , with one leg considerably shorter than the other, depending on the orientation of the mountain, for me it's not quite a surprise since i miss one centimeter on my right leg Wink Twisted Evil
