I went to see Buddy Whittington last week (very good, btw) and the support act were The Oli Brown Band (3 young men from the south of England). The singer pressed a gig guide into my hand at the end of the night and I've only just got round to reading it. It says; "On tour with Robben Ford, May 15th - 22nd, Cardiff, Falmo, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield"
Are these the only dates on the tour, or just the dates that Oli Brown is supporting Robben?

Hi Cheebatone
Oli is an ex-student of mine and from what he said when I spoke to him last (a couple of weeks ago) he is supporting RF for all of his UK dates.
On the subject, honest opinions on Oli? I've not seen his band for sometime. I thought he was an unusual choice for a Robben support but then last time I saw Robben at the Mean Fiddler he had a very SRV influenced support (can't remember the name, Chris someone possible?)

I saw Oli supporting Devon Allman Last December in South London.
Thought he was a good player, if a little bit nervous! _________________ the older I get the better I was |

henk, have u ever consider asking captain Kirk to do a Matt schofield section ???????????? i'm sure it'will work |
No, Matt his site is very informative and updated. Besides he has his own message board with his own contribution.
My point was that Matt seems to have a gig with RF in May.

OK, once you get over the incongruous nature of (what looks like) a 15 year-old boy singing about life, love and loss (while dressed like your average My Chemical Romance fan), what you're left with is a great guitarist and a brilliant singer. I was absolutely blown away by him. I didn't have that much self-assuredness walking down the street when I was his age, let alone leading a band! And he did truly lead the band too. He didn't just stand there, singing and playing, he directed the band and dealt with the audience with a maturity that I've never seen before in someone so young - and I'm going to see him again just as soon as I can.
If he was one of your students, Ron, you should be proud.
Regards,
