Thinking about purchasing this DVD:
http://www.amazon.com/Autour-Blues-Meets-Carlton-Robben/dp/B001320ELE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1208564624&sr=1-1

Can anybody give me a quick reveiw on music and picture quality?
Thanks,
Kiwi427.

Thank for that, as we can see a lot of mixed feelings .
Claude Engel is a great player. In france a lot of people get infatuated by their ego. Not a good attitude. Then a lot of top players 'ahem) are just average pentatonics wankers according to my experience of american standards.
Someone sent me a copy , and i was glad not to have step on it 'coz Larry, Robben name.

I think this DVD was released in September with different cover art. Maybe this is the U.S. release (English language).

I read somewhere that an acoustic session was filmed in Paris during the same tour, but this is not it.

French they just pretend they're the top of the cake . When it comes to get american ideas , oh yeahh ,but it's just in order to make money out of it... what a waste of time . That will never change , Money's talk , how much you earn and all that stuff , that's like a crime to talk about this -
ah,ah ah to quote someone, - so it's like gear heads , in france a lot of well known people are not sure enough about the goals or the means . But they sure know about money and they want not to know about that because they just pretend to be the BLUES intelligentsia of this fucking little country . And that is the very point where anything got spoiled.
Cause they even don't have a clue about sincerity.

But how pretend i'm voice of truth. Just some feelings. This DVDdid'nt move me in fact it made me mad that the so called french blues cream didn't have any aptitude to communication. Nuff said , i would dream of Robben giving some insights from this gig.

I didn't really enjoy it either, I have already discussed this in another thread, much for the same reasons as Blobby...but I'll let everyone be their own judge.

And i think you won't regret anyways - being a terminal Ford Fan - & - an american - How much crap i've bought after the death of Hendrix, i can't recall and that's better. I had some weird rip offs with Robben Ford too.
Now i must bash again that i have a natural anger to be french since age of 6, i always believed i was american and my place was not in this country.
Teenage period was not better , and when i started guitar with Hendrix in mind , i think i was a politic Statement all by myself.
That's why i felt free to write my own critic for you, i might not be a better
musician after one year in GIT but i sure can tell when it "sucks" as the higher point which means for me : " no one puts his guts, balls on the table ". Now i will say check this player Claude Engel , one of the finest guitar player in France , old generation , he is not really underrated 'coz he choosed to vanish in the shades of studio work. But i don't think much young guitar players know about him.that is a drag.

edited later : anyway i won't play the whinning, looser, believing karma laws i thank my guardian angels on a daily basis to be in france 'coz i'm so nut.................................................................
