Does anyone recall seeing Robben using a dumble combo amp
with 'vox' style grillcloth during the '80s? |

Well, I'd have been a small child at that time, but I definitely think it's possible, but not for very long. He seems to have always used heads. With regards to Vox style grill cloth, that was what Dumble often used. Robben has just recently gone back to combos, but if he was using one in the '80s it would have either been really early on in his usage of Dumbles or a special circumstance.
Is this something you saw? If so, where? If it were in Los Angeles, then there are any number of possibilities. If you go and look at some of the recording pictures for Keep on Running you'll see a couple of pieces with Vox cloth. I assume they belong to Jackson Browne.
Anyway...... see ya

Thanks Jeff.
Recently saw a photo of an amp in Aspen Pittmans book 'The tube amp book' on page 154. Aspen states it's one of Robbens but I've only ever
seen him using heads/cabs in photos. just curious as to how many he's
owned or used in his career. |

Some other combos Robben's been known to use: JC120, Yamaha G100, Boogie Mark I, BF Super Reverb, BF Deluxe......... those are just what come to my mind at the moment.

The Yamaha G100 is a great amp. Mike Stern still uses one.
