My Blobby Decorder Ring (tm) just surpassed the temperature of a 1986 Chernobyl fuel rod... |

I'm sure there's more to this then what we know also, but oil is running out and its predicted to be out in 30 years or so since the world wide increased usage.
Its the politically created walls that stand in the way of brave new technologies that is a big part of the problem. two out of 3 of my children have left our nest and the bills have gone way down too. I turn off the lights and electronics when I leave the room and watch my air conditioning and water usage. The plastic in land fills is already creating big problems so I recycle almost everything I can.
Thanks for everyone's input, part of me wants the gas price to go to $10 that will force change.

I agree that oil is a finite resource. However, I saw the Saudi Oil Minister in an interview on the BBC. He said the high prices were more the result of speculators than short supply. He said Saudi Arabia has plenty of oil for the world. I still think there is a need for an alternate source of energy - especially for heating and transportation - but I don't believe oil is in as short a supply as the gas companies would have us believe.

To me, the question is not whether we have enough oil now or in the future, but who has the oil and do we want to keep paying them for it. These are some not very nice people - check out Tom Friedman's column in the NYT today...

And even if we do have enough oil, why not diversify the source of energy - makes sense.
Blobby - was not directing my Zen comment at you and your rants elsewhere - just came to me as an example of the things one can expect to find on this forum. |

Ah Telefunk, no problem , we just crossed our thoughts . Bzzzzzzzzz.
Now can u believe this : french government over taxes oil energy arguing that is because the euro is strong against the dollar , so that is BAD that is why we (the masses) are paying 2 Bucks a liter. How funny is that way of arguing ?????? When you know french government buys petrol on the London Market with US dollars . Tell me how can they tell us (we the masses) why we are going to pay that price ......................................
Our new president (who loves america, but it seems that we don't share the same point of view , the only thing we share is our birth year ) is something that i can't discuss by now , being dsgusted. _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_music.cfm?bandID=147748 |
