Robben Ford Discussion

I've had a few folks ask if I will be in Europe with Robben in the fall.

Yes, it looks like I will.
However, there will be a bit of tour overlap that we are working out, so I will miss the first week of Robben's tour.

I will be finishing up the Allman Brothers summer tour with a show alongside the Grateful Dead on the 13th of October, so it appears I will probably travel on the 14th to arrive in Brussels on the 15th, hopefully in time to make the Spirit Of '66 show there (Filmore? Will I see you there? haven't heard from you in quite awhile.)

It looks like I'll be forced to miss the France shows the week before (Sorry, Pierre. Looks like I'll just miss ya... but perhaps next time around. Wink

).

Rick (from the Larry Carlton camp) will be handling sound and helping to cover for me along with someone else who will temporarily fill in for me.
Details are still being worked out.

Ahhhhh, so you will be at the Jazz Cafe again 7/8 November. I just hope there's not the same unruly mob there as last time. I guess you'll be bringing the LED flashlight again too!!!!

And I'm sure a great many people will again be disrespectfully ignoring his pleas to put away their cameras and Robben will again be continually sending me into the audience to deal with them when I should be focusing my attentions on the band and the shows production needs... thus distracting Robben, the band, and yours truly from providing London with the best show Robben is capable of... as usual.
Too bad for the rest of the audience who'd rather enjoy an evening of Robben's finest musical entertainment... but won't get it. Wink

We (the real fans) will be very respectful as always, shame the Milton Keynes audience won't be there en masse, that was far better behaved (earlier this year).

I was standing not far behind one of the buffoons with an LED camera phone on the "happy birthday" night and man, did he get a shock when that light was jabbed in his face, lots of "honest guv, it wasn't me..." excuses and expressions followed...

Perhaps we need a "gold circle", entry permitted by answering a few questions about the man and his music only the real fans would know!!!

I've seen a rumour that their has been changes in terms of the management & promoters at the JC, I guess it's still on though at the moment.
