I just noticed your "Bladensburg Rd" location...
Must be a "Gatton-esque" reference, eh?
I went to high school in Hyattsville, Md, and am very familiar with the northeast DC suburbs of Cottage City, Colmar Manor, Mt Rainier, etc., which flank Bladensburg Rd.
Believe it or not, the story upon which "The Exorcist" is based occurred in Cottage City, Md in 1949:

Not just Gattonesque, but Buchananesque, Wrayesque, Principatoesque, Kirchenesque, Clarkesque, etc. Have you read the book Capitol Rock by Mark Opsasnick? It's a great history of the PG County country/rock & roll scene from the 50's through the 80's. He paints such a picture of Bladensburg in the 50's and 60's as a musical mecca (don't slip in the blood on the floor though!) _________________ You got a motor like a brand new car....
