I got to know Carl Verheyen about the same time as I became a Robben fan. Carl "rocks out" a bit more than Robben and has impeccable chops, fantastic tone and a good voice. My favorite CDs of his are "SIX," the most recent CVB (Carl Verheyen Band) project and his "Solo Guitar Improvisations." Some of you in Europe may be more familiar with him than those of us in the states since he tours there every year.

A link to Carl's web site:

Cheers!

Pierre - those are great Carl links! Do you have anything like that for Robben?

Also - another guy I really like is Will Ray, ex(?) Hellecasters. He has an entertaining blues CD, "Mojo Blues." I enjoy the way he folds "country" style licks into "blues" playing and well as his playfullness and sense of humor.

Will Ray is awesome. The Hellecasters are great fun. I saw Will at the NAMM show and he was the highlight of the demos. Just burning.

I started listening to CV at the same time as i discovered Robben. At that time his CD Guitar Sale came out. I still love that album. His take on Dylans "My Back Pages" still gives me goosebumps
