Since announcement of Larry Carlton/Robben Ford concert here, I have been listening heavily Robben stuff. My favourites are "Live at G.I.T" from 1986 nd bootleg called "Around, Santa Monica" apparently from 1983 -- there is great instrumental song in both of them that Robben introduced something like "Yet untitled song Russell (Ferrante) wrote. We call it 'Rest <something> In C Sharp'". Does anybody know the correct name of the song and if it was recorded by somebody?

Could that be Revelation? If it is, Robben recorded it on Talk To Your Daughter.

Thanks Frank,

It is not definitely Revelation, though -- the song is literally in C# minor. It is little a bit like old Larry Carlton's song "10 PM", but it's not as dark sounding.

Funny thing you mentioned Revelation -- in '83 version Robben plays lick that is very much like ending lick in Revelation. My favoutite lick, BTW Very Happy

Robben says neither he nor Larry ever recorded that song and it was never formally titled... "It was just something we used to play."
However he says the song WAS recorded by Victor Feldman & the Generation Band as "Call Of The Wild".

Thanks a million (which is about the going price of that CD even used, btw), Daved !!

Great song and great vehicle for Robben to BURN, but I am not sure it would have fitted on Robben's or Yellowjacket's records style wise even then, though.

Will you be here in Finland at the end of the November (gigs with Larry Carlton Trio)?

Your welcome.

Yes, I will be working with Robben (and Larry) thru those dates before jumping over to Gregg Allman & Friends in December.

Then I return to help Robben in January with the recording of his 'Live in San Francisco' album before going back to the Allman Brothers Band for their Beacon Shows in NYC.
