Does anyone know how how to enroll for the November guitar clinic in Milan Italy. There's very little info on the internet at present. I'd hate to miss out on this one.
Thanks for help given. |

Thanks Anne for the information, I've got a place and can't wait to go. I 'm also looking forward to the gig as well.
Is this the type of clinic as per Robben's "The art of blues Rhythm" where the students bring a guitar?
Thanks |

|

Hi Pierre
The day started off at the Vintage guitar show in Milan at the Alcatrazz disco where Robben did a " a meet and greet" with the public. I asked Robben a couple of question, one about Dumble amp clones and when the new live DVD will be out. The DVD may be out in April.
The clinic itself was held at at music school and attended mostly by its students and a few outsiders like myself and lasted 3/4 hours with a short break in the middle.
Some of the main points Robben emphasized was to learn chords and trust your ears.
The highlights for me were Robben's rendition of Riley B.King and Moonchild Blues. Robben was standing about 10 feet in-front of me when he performed these tracks and it was a pretty moving experience ( All tracks were done unaccompanied with only Robben and his guitar)
It was obvious and great to see Robben's enthusiasm when asked questions from the the young students in attendence.
One guy asked "Do you use a computer to write songs" Robben pointed to his guitar and made a "writing on paper gesture". Very funny. Robben did say they were useful in a filing capacity.
I'm a 40 something male and I left the clinic motivated and inspired, just imagine the impact Robben made on some of the young kids there, in fact many were at the the gig the next day.
To sum up - The clinic was motivational and inspirational. Robben was a professional and a gentlemen who answered all questions with respect.
Robben well done !!
BTW I heard Robben say that the band had not played for weeks and he hoped the gig the next day would be Ok. Let me tell you Robben and the boys really rocked. I'll do a review of the gig when I have more time. |

Thanks a lot for the review Piemonte.
Looks like you had a great time. I wonder where the DVD was/will be shot ? |

Thanks for the review, Piemonte,
I was at the Alcatraz, but I couldn't come to the clinic. I wish I did.
