Just saw this article in the NYT...

Thought it was very much like a lot of the discussion on this forum in regard to gear. Interesting to see that gear envy is an epidemic we share with other trades!

I like both to play and to cook and found many analogies:


I have never taken formal lesson in either.

I tend to improvise in both.

When practicing either, I trust my taste more than my brain.

rule 1: "The lesser the better".

rule 2: "everything needs to mix well together"

Good ingredients (not tools) count.
