I guess something happened to robben's dumble and he used a Louis electric in the PA show. Somebody posted this clip on another forum ...

Playing is great as usual -- but tone is --- well .... I am just not digging it at all.
Hope this does not represent a tonal direction change for Robben.
This is very far removed from his signature Dumble/Fender tone. |

hmmm...I just think he sounds great as usual from what you can hear. But I certanly don't think you can judge "tone" on this low quality video |

Personally....I'm quite partial to Louis' amps. Not only is Lou a gem personally, no doubt one of the main reasons so many influential guitarists end up using his amps...but the quality, dependability, ease of access to service if needed, and modification if so desired, makes Louis a natural choice for any working (or not) guitarist who can afford a so-called boutique amp. In the 2 years I've been associated with Louis' product, I've had numerous opportunities to watch Lou do his thing, on my amps and on others, both famous and unknown. The same level of cratfsmanship and tonefullness goes into each and every amp, whether it's being shipped to Keith Richards, or to Joe Blow.
I've been fortunate enought to play thru a couple of well tweaked Dumble amps on a few occaisions over the years. Trainwrecks as well. I won't compare Apples to Oranges, but I can assure you of one thing - pound for pound - Louis Electric delivers the goods. There ain't no magic fairy dust sprinkled over these amps - what goes in is what comes out, as they say, but it don't hurt to have one of these in your corner....
That said, I wanted to post links to some additional videos that showcase Robben playing thru the Louis KR12 last February in Greensboro, NC. The solos, in particular, sound fabulous. It's ALL Robben, but I'm going to give Louis a little shout-out too.
