I'm not sure why anyone would want to sound like someone.

Sure, Robben is a great example, but I wouldn't want to sound exactly like him. There's already one Robben.

I don't know. I guess some people want to sound like someone else and others are simply heavily influenced by a few people.

I was listening to a Matt Schofield song today.

It sounded really good, but it seemed that good ole Matt has been listening to a lot of Robben's Supernatural Telecaster work. ;)

A few years ago while i was mourning Rory Gallagher listening to a greatest hits , i just listened to a tune with a solo that made me think : i am sure Robben listened to this guitar player ........
May be i am plain wrong but who knows where the brain catches samples.

Now , you know i am a kind of sponge and listening to JIMI made me want
to play the guitar , 40 years later i play and i sound like me , but a lot of people tell me they hear Hendrix in my playing, too bad nobody told me
