Do any of you have the same problem I am having? I have a hard time getting my local radio station to play Robben's music. They don't seem to think he is "commercial" enough! I heard them doing a remote broadcast today at a local cellular phone store. I went by on my lunch break, talked to the cell phone people a minute and then told the DJ that I was the one bugging him about playing Robben Ford. I told him about Robben's latest CD and showed it to him. I pointed out the songs that are covers of stuff that he already plays. He promised to get a copy and check it out. Now maybe I will FINALLY get to hear Robben on the radio again. There's your challenge. If you don't hear Robben on your radio-go thou and do likewise. Elizabeth, I know you are Robben fan #1, but can I at least get an honorable mention? Laughing Sorry if I sound like I'm bragging, but my father always told me, "He who tooteth not his own horn, the same shall not be tooted!"

Frank, I love to share...we can both be number one! Why would there only have to be one "Number 1?" And YAY for you for doing that...a man after my heart...something I would do for sure!

I lived most of my life predicated on fear, and in the last few years (and after a few life-altering experiences) I have become a noisy little tooter myself! LET'S HEAR IT FOR FRANK!

LET'S HEAR IT FOR ALL OF US...Smile

Hi Elizabeth,

remember the Highlander - There can be only one! - so I think that you probalby still deserve to be number 1, so get the sword out and prepare to defend yourself

Happy Xmas

I completely agree with you, and I'm happy to be the delegate from south Alabama and always second to Elizabeth. Actually, I wouldn't care if I was number 2 or 2000. I just love listening to RF.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

Well i'm happy to report that our local KGSR 107.1 is still playing Robben.
Heard 'Keep on Running' this sunday while driving. It was great to hear"Here's the new one from Robben Ford" and have thhe tune come blasting out of the speakers. And they are very good with mentioning the songs and artists as they play them.
Here's to hoping it spreads,
J

Alright! It worked! I heard RF on my local radio station for the first time in a long while. I'll follow up with an email to the DJ and thank him for playing it. Maybe I'll get to hear more. The mission goes on.

I am a man on a mission! I emailed the DJ yesterday thanking him for playing the RF song. This morning, I emailed the morning DJ, who had just played the Clapton "Badge" and 'splained to him how he had missed the chance to play RF's tribute to his former boss, George Harrison. I also recommended the duet with Mavis Staples. We'll see what happens. I'm still that squeaking wheel!

Yaayyy! The mid-day DJ just announced that she would have a new song by Robben Ford coming up shortly. I gotta go email her and tell her thanks. It's more than a mission now-it's a crusade!
