|
|
Hi Guys
I'm producing music tuition DVDs for the company I work for. We've run into a stumbling block finding info on how to present the notes in different languages (it's difficult enough finding a Romanian speaker, for example around here. Let alone one who is musically proficient!!).
Does anyone out there know for definite how to present musical notes, chords, guitar strings etc in the following languages. Portuguese, Dutch, German, French, Romanian, Italian, Japanese, Chinese & Spanish?
From various sources I have been told different things such as one guy telling me that it is only UK & US that use C to C and every other languages uses solfa Do to Do, then another guy saying that Philippino musicians use C to C??
Some help would be gratefully appreciated  |

Here in France we use indeed Do to Do.
But usually guitarists will adapt easily to the C to C system, as all of the English written material for guitar is written this way. |

Hi Ron, it makes sense that phillipinians use the C to C while they have been hugely influenced by America.
Yes in France , and probably a bunch of others countries we do learn these Do ré mi........except the whole bunch of electric players , who know how to handle the C system..............
But i have a question too : i can't understand why it is C D E F G A B;
it sounds like you have to think like in classical music :
A B C D E F G ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
what's up with this ?????
As for the chords i like the square with the fingering and the name like:
A7#5 |

In German it's H instead of B, and B instead of Bb, leading to some confusion sometimes _________________ www.soultingo.at |

Hi Ron,
unfortunately I can't help you on this one, but I thought I would just drop you a line to say that it is good to see that you are still checking in from time to time.
Cheers.

Thanks for your help guys.
The lack of a decoder ring means I have no idea what half of this thread is about!!
But what I do understand is quite valuable to me
DD: I check in every week actually, but I've been really busy and not had much to add recently. Hope you're well mate.
Thanks again all.
