Dear Daved
Can you clear up some speculation thats going around the internet - that both robbens dumbles are non-HRM - Robbens first dumble - which started life as a vox grill cloth head then a green combo and now as black head cabinet is said to be a non-HRM model but what about the dumble head which started out as a black Head cabinet and now is a Tan covered head?
many thanks and sorry to trouble you! |

It will be interesting to hear the story on this as I remember reading here about the combo being converted into a head and at least one of the Dumbles back into the shop for "cosmetic changes"....
...or I could be completely trippin'.... |

Well i must admit i am puzzled on this one . I could go with the skyscrapper mod , which implies the drawing of the frequencies like with an analog equalizer, but Hot Rubber Monkey is beyond my abilities. I can get a creamy sound , a liquid song (hendrix always), a shitty sound (Orianthi ), an overprocessed sound (SL) but a hot rubbered monkeyish one , uh uh uh,
As the true Bluelobster (trademarked) i am the one who is supposed not needing any decoder ring. As a french though i can extrapolate , you know some monkeys breed they have their butt going from Red to Blue , i think
there is a formidable hint here . Might be the pastis, or the aquavit , or even tequila but i feel you know it is a sound like when you rub something so strong it just go from red to blue , just like this sound , you have to squeeze
the notes with you fingers and ZEN the monkey is glad.......................... |

No trouble at all, LJ.
As for the HRM/non-HRM issue, I honestly don't know. I am not an engineer and do not dig around inside my artists gear searching for things that are of little or no relevance to my job or interests.
However, I WILL try to remember to ask Alexander next time I speak with him.
And... I DO know that he has told me that he HAS modified Robben's amps to include the 'Skyliner' EQ (so named because he felt the wave form looked liked a skyline when he developed it). _________________ B C-ing U!
