Hi, you might have seen my other thread on the guitar I just bought. I've searched here & there's some threads on pups but I'm curious is it pretty easy to do? I know the screws don't line up & the Schallers are a different size from traditional Humbuckers but with mounting rings it'll all get covered right?
I've seen the completed Esprit with JB/'59 or whatever but anybody have any picts of the routed hole? I'm not going to attempt it myself but...okay maybe I will.  Does any wood need to be routed to accept the mounting screws for the Duncans? etc. Ya know, stuff like that.

I had it done to my Esprit, years ago though. IIRC some wood had to be removed and also standard mounting ring had to be cut a little to fit the carve of the top.
If you take it to luthier he can drill hole for coil splitter -- there is already slot for it under the electronics compartement. Of course, if you are man enough you can do it yourself. Needless to say, I was not ... |

Hey thanks for the info Sampo. I can't decide, I'll probably pull the pickups, take alook around & see if I'm feeling up to it. I'm going to go with a push/push or push/pull pot for the split if I do it...I think.

Mondo,
Robben prefers the push/push pot. I've got two with push/pull pots and I don't like them very much. I think I would prefer the push/push also. It's a little awkward to pull up on the pots in the middle of playing. You really need to get your nails under the edge of the pot knob and pull up that way and it really messes with your rhythm.

Thanks Frank...I've had both on a couple of different guitars at previous times but it's been awhile with the push/push. I'll check it out.
