I've been listening to "Truth" now for about 2 weeks and I really like it. So far I have to say the tune that blows me away is Peace on my Mind. Just a great song all around...great lyrics, great singing, great production, and of course....Robben's playing is out of this world! Amazing display of dynamics and note choice.
Anyway, I was just listening to it on the way home tonight and had to share.

This is a stand out song for me too, the volume control brought a tear the first time I heard it. I dig this disk, for me it's his best since "Supernatrual" and every tune kick's. "Truth" will be in the top running for disk of the year.
The subject matter of this disk is bold and important, thank you RF for telling it like it is!

to paraphrase Robben, if you can't control stuff you can hold in your hand, how can you figure out things in a distant land? Without comment on who's right or wrong insofar as the war in Iraq is concerned, probably everyone can identify with Tommy Lee Jone's character's classic response when he first appears in "The Fugitive" and sees the bus-train wreck: "My, My My. What a mess." _________________ - BlueRunner |

The album is wonderful and the track is a standout. Regarding the lyric, I think his opinion is somewhat couched and tastefully delivered, the mature choice that serves to inspire consideration rather than inflame passions concerning a critical issue where most thinking adults have a somewhat firm opinion.
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, my alternate fave act of the moment, have an interesting political track on their lastest effort, "This is Somewhere." The track is "Ah, Mary" and ends with Grace evolving the title character into "America". Interesting. Grace is hot stuff. Great band too. Love her. Man, if she was opening for Robben on a national tour I might have to take a sabbatical. I was lucky enough to catch her at a local bar, of some fame, last week. She kicked off a tour with Gov't Mule the next night in NYC. Catch her if you can.

Anyone worked out the chord sequence to the chorus?
The verse seems fairly straight forward, (Dm,F,G,F,Am, from memory as I don't have a guitar in the office with me) apart from, I'm not sure what the B chord is in the middle of the verse, Bm doesn't seem to quite work...any suggestions anyone.
Great song though and an excellent track to play along with.
I see Robben is touring Europe in Nov although Europe only seems to consist of Germany! Oh and a gig in Switzerland. Pity he isn't doing France, Italy and the UK while he's here. Would have been good to hear some of the new stuff.
