I am new to Robben Ford and I just can not geet enough of his plsying.

I'm working on Hand in hand with the blues and i'm wondering if i have the chord for the bridge right.

Most of the song is a vamp between F#min and E, the chorus is D / E / F# min landing on a B7, but on the part where the lyrics say "The empy hours, they move so slowly..." it goes to a G Maj7?

What Robben is playing is amazing but it makes it hard to hear just what tht chord is.

Any ideas?

Michael

Hi

I think the bridge is Am7 // D7. It´s the verse-chords transposed.

Hope it helps

i hear stuff like this... (listening to that YouTube acoustic version with Carlton):
*posting lost spaces between chords*

Intro: Dmaj7 E F#-7
F#-7 (E)
I watch the streets outside my window
I wait but I know you'll never come
The world goes passing by
People laugh and babies cry
Never thought I had so much to lose
Dmaj7 E F#-7
You introduced me to a new companion
Dmaj7 C#-7 B-9 / / F#-7/C#
When you left me standing in the rain
Dmaj7 C#7#9#5 F#-7 B9 / / stop
Anyone looking would've watched me go
Dmaj7 E F#-7
Walking hand in hand with the blues
D E F#-7
Hand in hand with the blues

(same chords as above) F#-7
I watch the streets outside my window
I wait but I know you'll never come
Night falls and I draw the blinds
the will to live gets harder to find
Can't face the fact that I'm losing you
Dmaj7 (as above)
Enter the King of the broken-hearted
Someone to share my pain
And anyone looking would've watched me go
Walking hand in hand with the blues
Hand in hand with the blues
A-7 (G)
The empty hours they move so slowly
Cold sorrow sinks into my bones
F#-7
And night seems to never end
Pour a drink from a new found friend
Trying to drown the fact that I'm losing you
Dmaj7 (as above)
We're gonna go down that road together
And I'll never see you again
Anyone looking would've watched me go
Walking hand in hand with the blues
Hand in hand with the blues
Hand in hand with the blues
Hand in hand with the blues.

Solo F#-7 vamp > ritard: Dmaj7... E... F#-9....
