I don't know if anybody has started one of these but I thought it would be cool to talk about it. Guitar, pedals, amps, rabbits feet, and rack effects are all up to discussion.

I recently got a pedal board (and pedals ) and I revised it recently. I had the Zendrive on it but I found that the Zendrive doesn't really like my MusicMan RD 112 so it will only be used when I play my other amps.

I always use my pedal board and I have a "One Spot" power supply.

I usually play 335's, for me they sound great and are the most comfortable guitars.

I almost always play my MusicMan RD 112 amp, it works great its loud and its extremely portable.

Main guitar is a Clapton Strat. Second guitar is one of several including the Squier Esprit. From there it goes to:
Keeley modded Sparkle Drive- Line 6 Roto machine-VS H2O-Mr. Crybaby Super-Aphex Aural Exciter/Big Bottom - 66 Deluxe Reverb or Blues Junior. That's miked though a Sennheiser E609 Silver into the board. All cables are George Ls and I use a Godlyke power supply.

Lately, I've been playing in a Country/Classic Rock/Blues band.

With this band I've been using:

Dr. Z Carmen Ghia Clone running 16 Ohms, into a 112 Marshall Cab with Celestion G12H 30 Watt "Anniversary" Model Speaker.

If I am feeling frisky, I will also bring a Deluxe Reverb styled Clone. And I will run both Amps in Stereo, splitting them with the TC Chorus.

I also use a couple of Pedals, as we usually play 4+ Hours at a time. And we cover a lot of different styles and feels.

KORG Pedal Tuner> Eternity Clone> Timmy> TC SCF

Sometimes, I add a Mo'D Clone for higher gained excursions, and/or a BYOC Chorus/Vibrato pedal for thick, warm tones.
And I am going to take my old MI Audio Blues Pro to the next practice, to do some serious listening tests.

Guitars:

I usually use an early 80's U.S. Vintage Reissue "57" Strat.

And I have my Warmoth Soloist as a spare. It has 2 X Pearly Gates HBs, and Alder Body, a Maple Neck with an Ebony Fretboard. I often tune this one down 1/2 Step for a thicker, looser Tension (similar to a Gibson) and feel.

A Johnson Brass Bodied (Nickel Plated) Resonator, which I Mic with a Shure Beta.

A Larrivee D-03 with an added Fishman undersaddle PU.

However, for most of the smaller Gigs, I just grab the Strat, Carmen Ghia and the 4 Pedals. I only drag out all the other stuff, for higher profile, and or larger venues.

Well, since we had a cancelled practice today, I grabbed the Budda Twinmaster and did some playing here at the house.

It's a 210 Combo, with whatever unmarked Speakers Budda put in there.

LOUD 18 Watter!

And the mix of Strat>TC SCF>Twinmaster Low GainInput, is a SERIOUSLY GOOD (IMNSHO) Clean Tone!

(Of course, "Clean" only lasts so long before things get heated! LOL)

Think I'll take that to the next practice, and see what it sounds like with this band.

Here's what I bring to a gig. My band does a broad range of soul and rock, with a bit of country and folk. Mostly covers.

Amp:
Traynor YCV40WR.

The gain channel is pretty good, but I pretty much use the clean channel exclusively with pedals for OD. I recently swapped out the stock Vintage 30 for an Eminence Texas Heat, which I'm really liking a lot.

Pedals:

Barber Small Fry (my main OD)
Barber Direct Drive SS
Boss BD-2 Blues Driver (as clean boost or mild OD)
Digitech DigiDelay
Digitech EX-7 expression factory (volume, wah, Leslie, UniVibe sounds)
Peterson Strobostomp tuner
Occasionally a Danelectro tremolo or BBE Freq Boost treble booster.

These travel in an EH pedal bag that works great: really lightweight, fits nicely in our Miata, and slides easily under a piece of furniture in the bedroom between practice sessions.

Guitars:
Usually either:

My Glendale Telecaster with Fender Nocaster pickups, or

My "10 tone" modified Fender Fat Tele. Stock humbucker in the neck, Duncan Lil '59 pickup in the bridge, Fralin Strat pickup in the middle. Push-pull coil split tone knob. Does a great job of covering the Tele, Strat, and double-humbucker territories.

If I bring the single-coil Tele, I usually bring one of my other two electrics for variety:

My '84 Ibanez Roadstar II (strat copy), with Fralin neck and middle single coils and Duncan JB bridge (I think this guitar sounds great).

Ibanez AS-73 (335 copy) with upgraded pickups.

Acoustic:
Larrivee L-03, fishman Rare Earth soundhole pickup. Radial PZ pre for EQ and DI output.

Well, I don't gig much those days, it's down to about 3 or 4 a year, but anyway here's what I use :
First I must point out that it's a jazz gig, so I don't really have to play loud.

Guitars will be either :
- Greco SA-700, late 70's ES335 clone, great guitar
- Hamer Artist Custom
- Godin LGXSA
by order of preference

For amps :
- Fender Super Champ SCXD for small clubs: cheap 15W amp, sounds great, plenty loud for most of my applications. I love it.
- Fuchs ODS SLX 50W for larger venues. Great amp, but even on those occasions I can't crank it past 2...

Cab :
- 2x12 loaded with G12-65s
or
- 1x12 with EVM 12L

Pedals :
- Lexicon Nova Delay
- Xotic RC Booster
- Lovepedal COT50
- Jetter Gain Stage Red
- Maxon SD9
- Ibanez TS9
- Danelectro Transparent Overdrive
- Line 6 Roto Machine
(not all of them at the same time )

For the cover band I'm in, I just got a Line 6 M13 Stompbox Modeler. I play either a Fender Strat or a Gibson L6-S through that and into a Reverend HellHound 1x12 combo.

When I play blues I like to use a small board with a Planet Waves tuner pedal, a Zendrive 2, and a MXR Carbon Copy analog delay... same guitars and same amp as above.

When I play jazz I play my Cort LCS-1 Larry Coryell signature model archtop into either a Roland Cube 30 or the Reverend, or sometimes my old Carvin SX-200 2x12 combo.

For about a year now I've been using V-picks for everything almost all the time.

Nice... I have an L6-S myself, although it's cosmetically basic... black, with a rosewood fingerboard rather than maple, original Bill Lawrence-designed pickups. I've had it since 1974... it's a damn nice guitar.

I'm playing my RF signature and an ES-335. My Red Knob Twin is in the shop again with some kind of short that is proving to be elusive. I'm seriously considering getting a Blues Deluxe Reissue because I've been playing one at the rehearsal studio my group has been using and I like it.

As for effects, I'm playing through an original Zendrive, an Ernie Ball volume pedal and a Boss-DD3.
