Robben Band Sunday night in Memmingen was great. Though I cannot remember him ever to have had problems getting warmed up like in the first 3 tunes, he made some mistakes and his licks wouldn’t work during the first 10 minutes (maybe the jet lag) but the evening developed. 2 songs were really fascinating: Spoonful and Moonchild Blues. Moonchild with a long part played at living room volume, one could hear a needle fall, very good audience. Andy Hess and Toss Panos hamonized pretty well together, I prefer Hess to T. Carlton; and surprise Pat Ford took over Daved’s part, it must have been him or he was such a look-alike. Very nice venue in Memmingen, good sound. He played his Tele and his new 335. No volume pedal and TC, only a Delay pedal and Wah, Dumble and Fender Super Reverb.

The boys thought it was a good substitution for our rehearsal

New 335? Is it new to him or actually new?

I love Robben's version of Spoonful. It's just a great interpretation of a classic.

It' new to him. It's a 66 I think, he talks about it in a video interview posted on this forum somewhere
