I know there are quite a few programs out there for writing tabs and was wondering what people have had the best experience with. I made some of my own personal ones with GuitarPro which I liked but that is all. Any suggestions?

On a side note, a program I found called The Amazing Slow Downer has helped me figure out tricky parts in the past.

I don't know anything about software for writing out tabs but I will say that Amazing Slow Downer is worth its weight in gold!

I would also recommend checking out the program Transcribe. It has a few more features then ASD which are very helpful, not to say ASD isn't great.

Instab is quick and very easy to use.
PowerTab Editor is very complete, and has MIDI Playback, too! Probably my favorite.
TuxGuitar looks a lot like Guitar Pro, and it will also open those GP Files!

Cool. I hadn't heard of Transcribe but it looks like it's got a lot more to offer than ASD. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for the tip.
