Cool How long did it take to count 'em?

Latest in the car (like, right now) is Kate Gaffney's "The Coachman." Gaffney's currently the "Happy Hour Artist in Residence" Tuesday evenings at the Torch Club in Sacramento. Info at www.kategaffney.com

Chickenfoot.

For some heavy, kick-ass rock, you have to give this a listen... Cool

Cool Bela Fleck's "Thrown Down Your Heart," alternating with Los Straitjackets' "Yuletide Beat."

In the car:

Loads of stuff by a feller called Robben Ford - not a bad player at all

American Saturday Night, Brad Paisley - unbelievable playing and no slouch at the blues, as it happens

Wishing you all well for 2010 and looking forward to RF's next UK jaunt - please let it be soon!

David

The latest sampler CD from "Blues Revue Magazine," but just one tune, over and over again, "Why Is It So Hard To Say Good-Bay?," by Dr. Wu' & Friends (including the great Buddy Whittington).

But it's driving my wife nuts.

Cool

Actually, "Why Is It So Hard To Say Good-Bye?"

Maybe it's my spelling that's driving my wife nuts.

Cool

This morning I listened to Warren Haynes' new disc, "Man in Motion". I had pre-ordered it and it arrived yesterday along with a DVD of Warren's X-mas Jam.

"Man in Motion" is a masterpiece. It's absolutely beautiful. Warren's guitar playing is painfully sweet on this one. His voice is HIP! More so than his previous recordings. Imagine Robert Palmer's hipness, melded with funky, soulful blues guitar, a special ops horn section, a really outstanding band, backing vocals by Ruthie Foster and Ivan Neville, and the cool control of a Steely Dan album-- that's what I hear. I think it's a different sound for him. More introspective, more mature. I love it!

I recommend everyone put on their favorite jeans, make yourself a hot cup of something, sit in your favorite chair and listen to this album from start to finish. This one's too good for the road. Very Happy

I'm really enjoying Robbie Robertson's How To Become Clairvoyant. Really good songs, terrific playing and superb arranging and production. Clapton and Winwood appear on it - Clapton co-wrote some of the tunes, and sings a lot of background vox as well as guitar. A couple of nice turns by Robert Randolph... Pino Palladino on bass and Chris Thomas or Jim Keltner on drums... and Tom Morello and Trent Reznor both appear as well.

I second everything the RoadWarrior says- Man In Motion is a great album! It's so good that I'm going to buy the cd to replace the $4.99 mp3 I downloaded from Amazon...
