i'm a cabinetmaker/furniture maker/designer by day,music collector(classic soul,jazz & blues vinyl lp's)/turntable maker/novice electronics mender/medler by night.
I've worked in pro sound making speaker systems for clubs, touring & stadiums/installations of custom racks for corparate offices & such.
I discovered robbens music by accident back in 1993(first blue line disc) & have been a big admirer since.i have most disc's of his (including grp gold disc) + the early vinyl lp's,what i'm missing is the dcc blue line vinyl issue, blue moon, keep on running. My fave is supernatural(it just grows on you after a while).it sounds stellar
I've seen robben live two times(each time at the rams head out here on the east coast annapolis, maryland), the rams head sound system is pretty good for a small club,The better date was in 98 i believe --when he was touring with a great jazz band(must have been the studio band of tiger walk), the next date in 2000-there was a different line up including jimmy earl on bass, jimmy's brother Dave earl joined robben for a couple of numbers on stage exchanging guitar solos.
Robben gives off an aura of being a fantastic person(yes it shows that much--A person of sheer class)--let alone an extremely gifted & talanted musician.
More about me now -i own two guitars--a peavey t60(which was a pawn shop dea)l--repaired by me, & last but not least a mexican strat(but its an early one though circa 1993,LOL),as towards my playing--well lets just its below novice level,---if anyone was to ask me how i would describe my playing i would say--Unacceptable +,---(which is better than unacceptable minus i might add).
It's really great to find this forum--& i'm sure i shall have fun & learn,--regards to everybody participating here.

Hey Jazz/S/B:

Welcome ! .... can you tell me anything about City Square, Hagerstown ? I saw Robben is scheduled to play there 6/5/04 (it's on the Concord web site). Did they change the dates of the Western Maryland Bluesfest, or is this a club gig? I met a lot ppl from Maryland/Wash, DC blues society at the Ft. Lauderdale bluesfest and they have a very active blues society. Lots of very nice blues lovers. I hope there will be more east coast gigs announced soon !!!!! Welcome again. Smile
