Go to the best guitar tech/restorer in Japan (must be plenty) and show it to them. You'll get a quote and they will tell you what's possible.
Put it under your bed and start saving.
It's not a guitar if you can't play it as a guitar.
I think you should fix it and get as part of your gigging/recording rig otherwise just travel light - sell it. It could be a really great gigging guitar and as Daved says they are ment to be played otherwise its just a bit of wood with some strings on. As for historical aspect - Robben seemed to have recorded every album with a different guitar and Robben Ford Custom Shops are expensive anyway so I cant see you getting much more than the going rate for a Custom Shop Ultra - unless you know a rich Arab Shiek Robben fanantic.
I think Robben does just that - if he cant see use of a guitar for gigging or recording Im sure his wife would rather he sells it.
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I have to admit that I am leaning more towards selling the guitar than anything else. At this point in my life I am playing mostly archtops, partly because of the reduced weight and partly because I am mainly playing jump blues, west coast blues, faux jazz, etc. and the archtops seem to suit me better. But I'll give it some more thought based on all the suggestions you folks have made. Thanks for all the help.
