I've just got a '73 silverface twin which has the stock blue-labelled Fender speakers - I was wondering what the tonal changes would be if I replaced them with a pair of the G12-65s?

When touring in Europe, Robben gets a couple of rental Fender Twins where Daved changes the speakers to G12-65s.
I have a couple of the new ones and I simply LOVE the tone produced.
Comparing the stock speakers tone with the G12-65s is like how you feel when getting the right glasses to your sight. You see everything you saw before, just better!

I've played thouh a SFTR with those speakers and it was the best Twin I ever heard in my life. _________________ You got a motor like a brand new car....
I have a new (to me) '76 Delux 'verb (single 12"). I'm not amp savvy, but, would I experience the same gain in tonal quality with a similar speaker switch? Mine's a 22W v. (guessing?) 65W?
The speakers died in my '73 Twin so I replaced them with the G1265s - to be honest I didn't have the amp long enough to really feel familiar with the sound prior to the speaker swap, in order to be able to say exactly what the tonal differences actually are. I can confirm that it sounds great now though so I'm happy.
