Does anyone know if Mr. Ford is using an overdrive pedal with the new amp? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ew6wrYDjHjk

It's probably actually Volker's amp that he's borrowing for the gig - I would imagine that there isn't a zendrive used with it.

I could be totally wrong though (as usual)

@Jon07 - You're probably right although I have been emailing Joe Mloganoski at Two Rock about this amp and he said "Robben himself used one on a few Nor Cal gigs last week and loved it." I'm assuming, due to the date of the video upload, that it fell within that time frame.

Didn't both Robben and Larry pick up a Bludotone recently.
I think it's what Larry uses live now. No info on Robbens Bludo.

I'd heard that Larry had but hadn't heard about Robben. I always wondered, since Bludotone's are clones, if Larry would be "on the outs" with HAD. Anyone know Mr.D's policy on that?

I saw Larry Carlton about a month ago at Yoshi's in San Francisco and, yes, he was playing through a Bludotone amp.

Robben owns the rig and uses it for Northern California gigs. He "parks" the amp at Two-Rock and then gets it when he needs it, or Volker brings it to the gig. No pedals required.

Had a nice, lengthy chat with Robben the other day. Briefly, items of interest:

Robben's Tobacco Strat, which has been missing for 2 or 3 years now, has finally surfaced. Somehow it worked it's way into Dumble's personal collection of guitars. None of us knows how it got there, but Alexander, while inventorying his collection ran across it recently and asked Robben if it was his. It is, and Robben is elated to finally have it back.

Re: Blutos & Two Rocks.... Robben tells me HAS used them briefly in the last year as a convenience only. They were provided for him for select gigs and, tho they are nice amps, he says he does not own them, does not want anyone thinking he endorses them, or in anyway will be replacing his Dumbles with them. "It just won't happen. I have NO desire what-so-ever to play thru anything but my Dumbles whenever possible." he said with a roll of the eyes. "I love my Dumbles and they are here to stay".

Hi Daved,

great to see you are still active on this board Cool

Does this mean that you are on the road, or will be in the near future, with Robben again?

Any news of any new projects Robben is working on?

Cheers and all the best,

DD

I just tried to buy Robben's Two-Rock rig (head, cab, and interface) today based on this information. I played that rig (with a 2290) before he took delivery of it (although it remains at Two-Rock) and that's why I want it - it's the best amp for me that I've ever played. I was told by Two-Rock today that they cannot sell it to me because it is Robbens.

I'm sure he loves his Dumbles "the most" and equally sure he has no endorsement or other business arrangement with Two-Rock. I never said anything to the contrary. But at as far as Two-Rock is concerned, the entire rig was built for him with his input and is his. Too bad for me, I would have snapped it up.
