Hell, any one on the New York gigs ?????
Just read on the Gear Page that it is GREAT & Bluesy.
Robben plays a SG just like i've seen in YouTube.
Scofield plays a Stratocaster and a Two-Rocks. Wow , as usual i'am drooling. |

I've got a reservation for tomorrow (last of 6 nites) so I'll reply after that. needless to say, I've been looking forward to two of my very favorite musicians sharing a stage: Miles alumni both, I wonder if we'll hear any material from those heady days.

Any links you can provide? I wasn't able to find any. _________________ "Somebody's got to make some music around here." - Robben Ford |

I was at early set sunday (last night.)
Very fun evening—two of my faves having a great time. It's become a cliché but only because it's so true: Scofield's played an Ibanez semi-hollow forever; this is the first time I've seen him play anything else—and it's a strat: about as different a guitar as one could choose: yet it sounded just like Sco always does. He broke a string and grabbed Robben's tele at one point...and sounded exactly like Sco. Robben meanwhile, played an SG and switched off to the tele...again—he just sounded like Robben.
This only confirms what I've increasingly felt as I get older—the gear really has such a small impact on a players sound that it's just not worth worrying about. It's all about knowing how to play—what what gear you have.
As for the gig—they both played great. Sco was inventive and reckless; Robben was lyrical and passionate...and Andy Hess was tearing shit up, holding down the grooves wonderfully. Tass was an able partner as well.
I think that an album would be very enjoyable, especially if they write material for it. Sco's slo blues (written for this gig) was tasty! |

Kickass show.
Robben on fire, Scofield hangin with him in his own style, and hot rythm section. Those gigs would have been a nice Xmas present for me...
I don't understand why they don't try to record some of those one off gigs and release them at least digitally... |

Totally agree with PierreL. It was a pleasure to listen to this recording with 2 great guitarists. I'm curious about Robben's plans in 2011. Micheal McDonald...? Still hope for a Blue Line come back. |

While a great player somehow i feel Robben Ford is off line.....
Thanks God , some people don't follow the straight line so we can listen to
this RARE moments............And for those who commented about John
Scofield's BAD TONE ..........I have nothing to tell ......Without any Chorus & Reverb the Man proves he is a MAN. |
