Robben Ford Discussion

I know Robben used to use Planet Waves guitar cables, but I noticed he's not using them now. Does anyone know which cables he is using?

Do a search in this forum on cable. Robben was using Providence custom made cables according to Daved.

You're welcome. I hope that was helpful and I'd also like to welcome you to the forum. If I remember right, the Providence cables are hard to come by in the states and when Robben can't get them he still uses Planet Waves. Of course, he's always on the lookout for better tone, so he may be using something else now.

Without implying anything about what Robben's currently using or the comments above, I loved the section of the Art of Rhythm DVD when he said (at least at that time) he used Planet Waves cables.. but he preferred the sound when he used them in the opposite direction than they suggest!

I took it at face value.. but what made me grin is that he was how hard he's still working the sound.. and how much grief that statement would attract if it was made by some Internet-Joe on TPG!

yes one of the cables Robben uses is a purple Providence P203 - which is normally a patch cable of only a few inches but Robben has a full size cable to go from his amp to his pedal board - I also have one of these cables custom made kindly by providence and I can tell you it sounds superior!!!!
