The Warren Haynes Band w/Ruthie Foster is currently touring (the US). Went to the Boston show last week and I'm still wowing over it. Check them out if you can. Definitely a road trip worthy show. Also, Warren's new cd is fantastic... _________________ Soul on Eleven |

If you get a chance to see the Tedeschi/Trucks Band during their current tour, I urge you to go see them. I thought the Derek Trucks Band was pretty awesome, but this group is a couple of notches better. It just doesn't get any better than this... |

I saw the new Tedeschi Trucks Band at Wanee and they were unbelievable! The horn section is high energy. Susan was also playing great guitar! I loved them!
I also saw Warren Haynes' new band at Wanee, but Ruthie Foster was not with them yet. I hope to see them again with Ruthie! I'm loving the new cd -- Man in Motion. _________________ Travelling by train of thought |

I caught the show here in Chicago, and it was amazing. 3 hours plus at one of the best-sounding smallish venues here in town. Brilliant show, and I love the new album.
Only disappointment is that Ruthie is apparently done with the tour, as she wasn't at the Chicago show and a couple of subsequent shows. I was really bummed about that, as I've become a huge fan over the last couple of years, and from the videos of early shows, it's clear she really brought a lot.
Still, a great outing by Warren and the band. I did pre-order the CD, so I got the DVD of the Christmas Jam set which did feature Ruthie--some good stuff there.
I'll console myself with remember that I was lucky enough to see Ruthie on her own tour in two fairly small venues here within the past year and a half or so. She's amazing, and highly recommended to anyone who hasn't had a chance to see her. |

Don't fret FTT- Ruthie had a much smaller role in the show I saw than I'd expected. Didn't once pick up a guitar which was disappointing to me because she's a great player, and wasn't even on stage for well over half the show. It was fun to hear her (background) vocals and watch her boogie with that infectious smile, but she wouldn't have been missed much otherwise (no offense to Ruthie!)... _________________ Soul on Eleven |
