I just posted about seeing Robben live tonight here in Sacramento on the other part of this forum

I am 54, new to playing the guitar, just started in June 2011. I always had a story that it was too much work to learn to play one and never really tried. That changed last summer.

I threw myself into the fray and have been having a blast. In august I played my first open mic and in Sept I played my first gig at a local hot spot called Harlow's. I was part of Skips(a local music store) Weekend Warrior program. You are teamed up with different players and a singer, pick 6 songs to practice and learn for 4 weeks and then you perform 5 of them along with 5 other bands that day. All cover songs and no 2 bands can play the same songs.

It is a blast and I will join in every time they do this.

I am also a part of 3 weekly jams and a couple monthly ones. I sang backup at the Harlow's gig and am now trying my voice for lead at the jams, so far so good and people seem to like my voice. I really like singing the slower blues but will try most any blues if I have the words and recognize the tune or know the song.

Well enough for now, I need to eat and practice before I go to bed.
