Hi All
Thought I'd catch up here as I hadn't dropped in for a while. I've been touring the globe as bassist for Oli Brown for the last year, all good fun, played alongside Buddy Guy, Matt Schofield, Buddy Whittington, John Mayall, Debbie Davies, Les Dudek, Ten Years After, Robin Trower among others. To cut a long story short I'm back on guitar and gigging with my own four-piece band this year having just recorded and released a new album Better Side. I thought some of you may be interested as when I sent some of you a copy of the last album 'Don't Make Me Stay' you mentioned if I recorded an album of originals you'd want to hear it :-)
Here's a little sampler on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmKog37qadU
I re-recorded two originals off the last album and there are a couple of covers (Tab Benoit and Etta James) but the rest are all mine
I was compelled to post this mainly due to jconstant posting on the youtube sampler, suddenly was reminded of this lovely forum he he!
Hope you like it anyhow.
Ron

Hi Ron,
I happened to find that sampler this weekend and since then have been really looking forward to buying the album when it's release here tomorrow.
I'm digging the hell out of I Ain't Leaving' and have listened to the live version at Watermark Cafe on Youtube a lot in the past few days. I'd love to do this tune with my band. There are a couple of chords I'm not quite sure of. It sounds like that chord at end of the intro motif is G9, right? And the other is the chord at, I believe, the end of each verse before it goes back to the motif. I think it has an A# in the root and a C up on top (A#9+5 maybe?). What that's one?
Great tune and I can't wait to listen to the rest of the album! Congratulations!
Thanks Ron! |

The album is available from the website anytime you want it J, it might take a week or more for iTunes to start selling it past the release date (27th is the promo release date here in the UK). You can order it by going to www.ronsayer.co.uk and going to the store.
S'funny but I get a lot of questions about the mystery chord at the end of the progression of I Ain't Leaving :-) It's a Bb13 chord (a sub chord for the dominant chord E7#9b13
Here's the string/fret combo
E6
AX
D6
G7
B8
E8
Hope that helps! It would be an honour for you to cover it send me a recording when you do, would love to hear it.

I should have known a Bb13 when I heard it Ron but thanks for the voicing. I'll get a recording to you when I have one.
Again, congrats. The sampler sounds fantastic and I can't wait to get my hands on the whole thing.

Hi Ron,
Do you happen to know when your new album will be on iTunes in the US? I've been checking since the release date with no luck.
Thanks,

Hi Ron,
great to have you back, and boy, haven't you been busy! Crongrats on your new CD and tour. I look forward to catching you in Norfolk/Norwich some time in the near future, and hope to pick up a copy of your new CD too.
It's great to see Oli doing well too; you must be proud seeing that he was one of your former pupils?
All the best mate,
DD

Hi J
The album should be out right now. Sorry for the delay in answering, things have been most hectic. It's available iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby and Junodownload that I know of. It's also available from the website in hard copy.
Maybe you've already found it :-) in which case I hope you enjoy it!
