Who is Robben touring with now? I saw him last summer and he had Dewayne Pate and Volker Stiffler from the Ford Blues Band, plus Tos Passos on drums. I hope he is using keyboards or sax rather than a second guitar -- seems kind of pointless to have another guitar player when Robben's in the house!

I think Daved mentioned the west coast tour (Yoshi's, Mystic, and maybe somewhere in Santa Cruz) would have Dwayne, Hilary and Bob Malach. It would be great to see John R. or Dave Mathews on keys again so Robben has more room and support. Looking forward to hearing Dwayne and Hilary together, both can really drive a groove and the combination could be killer.

It's confirmed: I just received an email from Dal Booth Management (Robben's manager) that the lineup will be Bob Malach (sax), Dewayne Pate (bass) and Hilary Jones (drums). Should be interesting to hear Robben without another chordal instrument but with a sax instead.

Yes, this is the basic lineup. I spoke with Robben this evening and he says he'd like to keep this lineup for the good part of this year's touring. There will be minor variations here and there, depending upon artist's other commitments and such, but this is the core lineup at this point.

John Burr MAY sit in on keys along with the rest of them up at Yoshi's.

Spoke with Jimmy Haslip this evening and he may be our bassist for the first few shows of the second tour leg in the middle of February, starting in Oklahoma City, as Dewayne has another gig commitment in New Zealand that will slightly overlap.

I will be addressing these things in the RF Pass update that I am preparing and hoping to post in the next few days.

I got to fondle a Dumble, and I have to admit, it felt pretty nice. (But I didn't have to pay for it...)

Inuendo crescendo?
