Renegade Creation has announced the June release of their new album, Bullet. I listened to sound clips of the 10-track CD yesterday on abstractlogix.com and couldn't help myself from clicking the "Add to cart" button immediately! The song clips are that good! The release date is June 6 (oh geez, 27 days to go!) The link with audio samples is:

A few weeks ago I attended Robben's Instructional Clinic in St. Pete and he played two songs from the upcoming album. It was just Robben singing and playing his guitar (without a band). Honestly, I never thought I'd get to hear him play without a band -- and now I have -- and it was the most awesome thing ever! Robben also talked a lot about his songwriting and chord voicings at the clinic. It was really interesting and informative, and an overwhelming amount of information!
I hope Renegade Creation will tour this summer, but I haven't seen any dates yet. I did get to see the band play two great shows without Jimmy Haslip last summer at the Iridium Jazz Club. I think I posted something about those shows last year. _________________ Travelling by train of thought |

I couldn't agree more. The quality of the music fully bears out Robben's decision to be a band member rather than a solo performer. The chemistry between RF and Michael Landau is producing some quite remarkable results. It's been some time since I heard playing with such an immediate appeal. _________________ "Creativeness often consists of merely turning up what is already there. Hey, that s awesome news as the first CD is still on top of my play list. This combination of fine musicians is a winner to my ear.
My hope is for a DVD sometime soon as for us fans down in this part of the world the likelyhood of catching these guys live is very slim.
I am off to order now.

Thanks RWFB!! Great news. I was wondering about this, as it is overdue.
Also waiting on the MMcDonald cd.
I've seen RF and Landau play 3 times, although only once with RC. What a great duo!
I too will be watching for some tour dates. And buying CDs. |
