I did a quick search and could not find anything answering my question:
Can anyone tell when this CD will be made available for US buyers?
Judging by the link below it sounds GREAT.
Just wondering.

Rub it in much...lol
I sent an email to the record company right after I posted...no reply.
I saw a member posted a radio recording of the show...but it's no longer available.
Bummer. |

Can someone verify when this was recorded? I believe RF played with this band in 2010 or so. Just wondering if this is a newer show or not.
Thanks. |

This not being available in the U.S. is a travesty. I hope it's just a matter of time because this sounds great. _________________ "Somebody's got to make some music around here." - Robben Ford |

After 3 emails (I'm a PITA), someone finally got back to me from the record company.
They are going to look into it. I'm sure there is some legal or royalty issues holding it up.
I'll post when I hear back.
If you do the torrent thing there is a copy of the radio show b'cast on dime a dozen.

Thanks for looking into it.
I don't understand why a record company with a recording to sell wouldn't want to sell it everywhere they can. Maybe this company was going to sell it here and just hadn't gotten to that point yet, but I think we've all seen cases in which something is available in the U.S. but not in other parts of the world and vice versa. It's a head scratcher. _________________ "Somebody's got to make some music around here." - Robben Ford |

This is a small label, I'm guessing -- depending on the deal they cut with the artist, they simply may not have rights to sell in the US. If that's the case, we'd need to get another label, with both the interest in releasing this CD and distribution in the US, to be in touch with the band. |

Agreed, somthing like that is holding it up. I said some legal or royalty issues but it could be any of a 100 reasons.
The radio b'cast is holding me over for now...sounds great.
BTW jconstant I love my G&L's I have 3 Legacy Specials 1 Legacy and an old mustang bodied sc-3.
The only thing that had me put them down is an LsL Saticoy. Now THAT is a crazy good Strat. |

You guys probably know more about making money selling albums than I do. It just seems that in today's world of digital everything I'd think it would be a no-brainer to just make it available for sale everywhere and wait for the money to come in (albeit, not a lot in many cases).
Selling an album and making a little bit seems better than not selling it and making nothing. _________________ "Somebody's got to make some music around here." - Robben Ford |

I have a little knowledge about licensing -- mostly in connection with some small time authors for whom I've negotiated publishing contracts. Suffice it to say that the contracts most publishers (or record companies) are used to, and largely remain tied to, still (2012 notwithstanding) divide the world into territories. Some allow publishing and distribution throughout the world; many others are limited to the United States (& Canada); Europe; etc. Doesn't make nearly as much sense as it used to, but these kind of changes make publishers (and their lawyers) nervous, so they tend to happen slowly. |
