A link to one of these videos was in the thread on Robben's new pedalboard but I thought I should bring it to the surface a little more obviously because everyone should see these videos...

Robben posted this brief note on the "From the Road" page on his Guitar Dojo:
Quote: | GREETINGS FROM TOKYO!
I'm here in Tokyo playing with a fantastic Miles Davis tribute band--Omar Hakim on drums, Darryl Jones from the Stones on bass, Wallace Roney on trumpet and Joey DeFrancesco on B3 organ. Great band and looks like it might have legs for Europe and even the US. We're shooting live TV here on the March 1st so YouTube here we come! | |

Awesome.
There were two sets, maybe they'll both end on the Tube .
I hope they'll do some festivals in France this summer. |

They are touring next summer as "Miles Smiles" http://www.theamiagency.com/bio/miles-smiles
There are no tour dates posted but they are playing Pori Jazz Festival here in Finland in June. |

When you say "next summer," are you speaking of Summer 2012 or Summer 2013? |

I mean this coming summer 2012. We had snow last Monday so summer seems to be so far away ... Sorry about confusion. |

It looks like they are touring(or will be touring) with Larry Coryell for the upcoming festivals. |

At first I though maybe you meant that the Miles Smiles group as originally constituted was touring with Larry Coryell, but you mean that Larry Coryell is playing guitar in the group instead of Robben. |

Well, it looks like the original lineup of this tribute band is playing at least one gig in the states:

I will have to catch that show for sure! |

They are certainly switching band member whenever schedules conflict. |

I saw the first show in Tokyo. Joey DeFrancesco was amazing. Great show all around. |
