I am very sorry to hear sad news. He was a lovely person, I used to watch his videos on My Space and exchange letters. RIP Pierre, we will miss you.

Yes, Doc, it is such a terrible loss, and the hole in my heart is never going to mend. I still watch his videos and pretend he is just on the other side of the world. Too soon, indeed.

I haven't been here to the boards in months, so missed this thread.
Thanx for contacting me back at the time it happened, Elizabeth.

Let me just say this :

Many have passed thru these boards in the years since the official forum was created, but thru out there has been a core, or 'family' of folk, who have been central from near the beginning.

Pierre was one of those.

Always there, always sassy and always making waves. But underneath, a sincerely loyal and, though often borderline disrespectful, an always appreciative fan of both me and Robben.

Pierre and I severely butted heads one time in the earliest of days, but after taking a step back, we walked away respectful of each other in the years that followed.

Pierre was the cousin you sometimes wanted to slap upside the head, but at the same time, you cared about enough that no one else better pick on him or risk facing your protective wrath.

I'm glad I got to meet him at Yoshi's one year.
He will always be one of the most fondly remembered of internet personalities in my experience.
RIP, Blob.

Thank you, Daved, for those words.

That trip to Yoshi's, and our subsequent visits, (we usually did at least four shows, sometimes more, each time Robben was booked there) were highlights for us as well. Pierre came to the U.S. as often as possible, and each time he was here, we attempted to outdo our previous Robben odysseys. (A personal best was the summer we did Yukiah, The Sierra Nevada in Chico, and a blues festival in Sonora(?) in three or four days. Definitely one of our best summer adventures.

One summer I drove him to Ojai to attend Robben's clinic, which he adored. I functioned as translator, so I got to sit through my second experience at Robben's clinic. It was wonderful.

As hot-headed and opinionated as Pierre may have seemed, he had a heart of gold, and was one of the most loving, generous, talented, and intelligent men I have ever encountered, and the hole in my heart created by his death will never be filled. I miss him more as time passes.

It makes me happy to read all the kind comments that continue to be posted about him. Many thanks to everyone for these.

love, elizabeth Crying or Very sad

Well this is indeed sad news. Pierre was certainly the most colourful person on this forum for many years.
