Hi everybody, I'm new here and have a question - years ago I heard Robben do a straight-ahead blues tune that went something like:

You told me that you loved me
you said every word was true
now you're acting kind of funny lately baby
tell me what's got wrong with you

You're gonna need me
but your cryin's not gonna make me stay
the more you cry little girl. that's the further I'm goin' away....

I know the words but I'm trying to find out what the song is and if Robben ever recorded it. Can anyone help?

Thanks.

The one I'm looking for is a straight-ahead slow blues tune, unfortunately that's not the one, thanks though.

You're Gonna Need Me
(Albert King)

You told me that you loved me
And every word was true
You're actin' kind of funny lately
I wonder what's wrong with you

I'm gonna leave you
And you're crying won't make me stay
Well, the more you cry for me, little girl
The futher I'm going away

There won't be no need to callin' me
I won't answer the phone

I'll have someone to answer, baby
That your sweet lovin' daddy is gone

You're gonna need me
The day I say goodbye

Ohh, when the train leave the station
You'll have to hang your head and cry

Ohh, when that train leave the station
You'll have to hang your head and cry

Robert Cray recorded the song for his duet with Albert Collins on Shame and a Sin (1993).

Cool
