I found this video of Robben playing Prince's tune 'Kiss' (now there's a sentence I never thought I'd say).
http://youtu.be/Krvaqo3_UZU?t=40s
The video got mixed reviews by folks on TGP:

but I enjoyed it a lot. I just enjoyed it for what it was - a rearrangement of a wildly popular pop tune into a blues tune played by a master. _________________ "Somebody's got to make some music around here." - Robben Ford |

Those snobs on the Gear Page couldn't come close to that tone or phrasing. Nothing average or mundane at all about that performance. _________________ Ham Fisted Bloozer |

To be fair I agree with a lot of the comments - they mostly point out that Robben's playing and tone are great, but the band's version of the song is not great - it does sound a bit like a bar band version with a great guitarist playing on top of it. |

I know what you mean, Jon. I wouldn't want to hear a lot of this kind of thing because it was like a bar band version of a song. I guess every once in awhile, I think that kind of thing is just fun and shouldn't be taken too seriously. _________________ "Somebody's got to make some music around here." - Robben Ford |

Hmmm. I guess you can't please everyone. Strange to hear so many RF 'fans' complain that he's covering a song with a blues feel. I would be disappointed if he hadn't.
I've never heard the original version, so I guess I'm coming from another place. But I really liked it. Some of my favorite RF performances are as a guest with other bands, playing other tunes.
If this is typical bar band stuff, I need to get out more often! |

And well, as stated, Robben is a guest here, it's obviously not his version of the song, so I don't really understand the arguing... |
