The reference to "Kind of Blue" is a bit odd -- it's an album, not a song....

That's true, Ed. It has been pretty quiet.

Hi Ed, grüße nach Vorarlberg.
Nice to meet some fellow Austrian here on the board.
Seems that Robben just doing less gigs in Europe and more inside USA. But anyway he was not very often here in Austria, much more in Germany or Italy.
But I dont give up, hope to see him again somewhere near.

Hi FTM, greetings back to Vienna. In fact the first time I ever saw Robben live was in Austria (Imst)
GREAT WEBSITE BTW!

I think, Robbens retirement has too wait a bit. He is touring a lot. I just bought tickets for Berlin/Germany in April. Double concert with Eric Johnson. Yeah Very Happy
(I never saw Eric live, and only two times Robben)

Closest emoticon to "wow!!!" Couldn't find one for "jealous". Those are my two favorite players.

...I understand Wink
my favorites too. The double concerts are only in germany, and its a great chance to hear both of them. I can't remember Eric Johnson ever played in Austria. I have to fly to Berlin (1000km). At first I bought some tickets for Munich, which is only about 350km from my hometown, but then I got a gig on that very day, so I had to change to their Berlin appearance.
Artists like Robben or Eric play a lot more USA gigs, so you guys have a lot more chances to see them.

Actually, Robben seems to play relatively few US gigs, except around Northern California. I've never seen him near where I live. He was briefly on the bill for last summer's North Atlantic Blues Festival, but then apparently cancelled.

Eric does seem to tour a bit more, but I still haven't managed to see him live. Closest he comes to me is Boston. Maybe next time.

I've seen Robben play numerous times and he usually looks annoyed on stage. Like its a chore. I still love his playing and it doesn't keep me away from the gigs, but I'm not surprised. He's not having fun up there on stage.

Talk about long time since a posting me too, hi pierre, edmund and all

I saw robben last week in the uk, bath, saw him in street outside the theatre back door
First time i ever got to speak.

Big moment for me, great gig as always did not take any cds for signing as i had never had chance before but RF was signing after the gig so bought the new album on vinyl and got it signed.

I made a comment about his clothes - denim shirt and white jeans - as a joke saying he was dressed down when he usually wears smart jackets trousers and shiny shoes etc. He did not know how to answer so Apologies Robben I was not being critical just saying every other gig you dressed up but for this tour going back to the blues with all the covers etc you were maybe dressing accordingly.

My joke did not work and i feel a bit embarrased that he maybe thought it was a criticism :-( it wasnt and the gig was amazing.

Also wished i could have seen the shows with EJ in germany - dream gig! with my two favourite musicians.

I should have asked him why doesnt he do a short acoustic section in his shows as he is a fine acoustic player and all i have in that style is from the special edition tiger walk cd - dont let the sun ..... Etc

Anyway hope he continues to tour and release more great music and if RF reads this apologies again I must have sounded very critcal when we talked and that was not my intention, only a tongue in cheek comment

Cheers simon
