Robben is at The Blue Note tonight
Featuring:
Robben Ford, guitar & vocals
David Piltch, bass
Lemar Carter, drums
Ricky Peterson, organ

Has anyone saw this lineup? What type of gig will it be? Does David Piltch only play upright bass? Im basically looking to find out if you think it will be a melow jazz type of gig or will it be like all the past amazing rockin shows he has done.
Thanks

Well, listen to his last album and that will give you an idea where is at at the moment...

Alternatively you have that : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDp9Xb--h1A

If I had the chance of seeing him play in my town or close enough, I definitely would not miss it whatever the reason...

I saw Robben on 3/16 at Sellersville (Pa) Theatre.

I think it was probably the same lineup except you didn't mention the Trombone Dude, whose name escapes me.

The bass player play only a thinline upright, and he was pretty darn good.

Ricky the B-3 player was freaking *awesome* He was very, VERY good!

The drummer and trobonist were top notch too.

Robben did a lot a material from the new CD. It was definitely more of a laid-back soul/R&B vibe, but he also did a few older songs, and played an SG for a bit.

:-)
