I've always loved the look of the Noupaul's, I just think the aesthetics match the function really well and seem to balance out the les paul better than the usual stuff.
I've been looking to experiment with my own LP type guitar and have always liked the look and possible difference from the string-thru stoptail/solid block tailpiece and going to try and fabricate my own. Does anyone know how it's constructed? Is it all one piece, or is the metal "cap" a separate piece that's attached to a metal block? Is the cap conformed to the carved top (something that is really difficult to do), or is it recessed into the body or sit on top of a contoured piece of ebony? Physical size? So far I've only got sporadic online pics to go off of.
I ask because I saw an alembic bridge that sat on a carved top, but to conform it to the convex surface, they conformed a piece of ebony to the body and put the tailpiece on top of the ebony.
The tailpiece looks like a cool hybrid of alembic, G&L, and a strat.
