|
|
Is anyone aware if Robben is using, or still using the providence delay?
I read on TGP that he had some issues at a live event earlier this year, but there were a lot of assumptions in the thread to the point where I started to wonder on the validity of the whole issue.
Anyway, I am in the market of a delay, but the providence is top $ so I am hoping for some verification or comments on the brand.
Many thanks. |

The pictures of Robben's board from Vertex show a Vertex modified Line ^ DL-4. I have no idea if Robben is still using that one or not since he switches pedals a lot.

Yes he does, apart from the Zendrive. I am looking at delays and of course, Providence is high $, so I thought I would check here. Not sure I need to spend that kind of dough on myself this close to holidays though... ): |

I know what you mean. I've just started a second band, and I could use a 2nd, smaller pedal board, but I don't need to spend the bucks right now either, so I'll keep hauling the big one to both bands' gigs for now. I use an Echo Park by Line 6, which is the smaller delay, but that DL4 is a sweet unit - even without the Vertex mods. I know a lot of pros still use them.

Hey Frank, that is helpful. I will check out the DL4. I sold my Flasback because I was not using it much and now I feel lost without one. Mainly 2290 style, but I would prefer to get a keeper....famous last words.
I downsized my board into an ATA case, and that has been very cool. The smaller and lighter the happier I am once the guitar is on my shoulders! |

I'm glad I could help Nick. If you have a GC near you, they may have a DL-4 you can try out in the store. You can also visit www.line6.com and download the owner's manual in the support area.
