Yeah, Mr. Willis made a guest appearance at the Key Club show. His appearance was fun but not the high point of the evening. We love the guy in movies but . . . how did he get there?!?!?!? I liked the Key Club. The sound was good. The opening bands, the 'Just Dave Band' and 'Jesse and the Raindogs' were competent, professional and enteraining opening acts - a treMENdous relief from the opening acts for Robben at the Coachouse in southern Orange County last year (what was THAT about? - I probably don't want to know). BTW, both opening acts can frequently be seen at COZY'S a nice little blues club in the San Fernando Valley. I've never seen a Robben performance where he hasn't done well and it was clear this was a band gig and not just a "Robben" gig. Everyone got to speak and shine. I'm so terrible at remembering exactly what songs were played but it was about one third new CD, two thirds previous material (he did "Superstitious" which surprised me) and the encore, "Badge." I could say more but the system will probably "time out" on me and this will all be gone. We enjoyed the evening tremendously and brought another couple who are also long time Robben fans - in fact, the first time I saw Robben was with my friend Joe and we haven't been to a Robben show together since so it was a big occasion for us (we're talking 1978 to 2004!).
I hope all of you get to see him during this tour! _________________ iamthewalrus

Well, Robben played on Bruce Willis albums , so this certainly explains his presence. |
