Yay! Robben's just been confirmed by the Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival as part of the festival this year.
On the downside, Byron Bay is two days drive away and my own gig schedule is pretty hectic that time of year.
So, hopefully they'll be some other news coming soon for Melbourne/Sydney dates, so if anyone knows any details please let me know!

I though that, in Australia, you would say " ONLY two days of driving...."

heh - its gets like that sometimes!
There are people here that would think nothing of driving for 2 days or more to see a good gig (and it's very tempting!) and people do travel for long distances to the Byron Bay Festival. Not a bad lineup this year either and a nice place.
Still, it's hard for touring artists sometimes as all our major cities are so far apart. From Byron Bay to Sydney is probably a 1 day drive and then another day's drive down to Melbourne. Not sure what the tour itenary is at this stage but I suppose it's a bit tough on guys like Daved to travel such long distances when there's only a handful of gigs on.

Elizabeth,
everyone's invited! Byron Bay's a nice part of the world too and Easter's a good time to be there.
Fingers crossed that he makes it down to Melbourne though, although I will travel to Sydney for a gig if need be. I did this for George Benson when he toured last year because I didn't like the seats that were available for his Melbourne gig!
Life's too short to drink bad coffee, drink bad wine or listen to bad music. Will travel for good gigs!

In 2000 we stayed overnight in Byron Bay during our 2 week bike ride from Brisbane to Sydney. We stayed at the "Bayside Bed & Breakfast," 30 Marvel St., B61 2 66 857 509; it's a fantastic little place.
The beaches! The beaches!

Leftbender, I think you know me a little too well! Besides, someone told me today that Koala bears can be pretty nasty. (But they're soooo cuuute!)

wow! I'll stop complaining about the length of the potential car trip!

Elizabeth,
Koalas are generally ok (as long as you're cuddling the ones in a zoo or wlidlife park and not ones out in the wild!). Main problem is that they're sometimes... umm... unpredictable with their toilet habits. At night however they make the most unbelievably nasty noises (like wild pigs) which is apparently attractive to other Koalas.
