Robben Ford Discussion

So if you're me, the first Yellowjackets album occupies a special place in your head and heart. Earlier this week I received my copy of the "New Old Stock" Yellowjackets CD with 4 new songs/takes from that era. All 4 of these takes feature Robben prominently.

What a treat! I had a friend over and played one of the NOS tunes that Robben penned for him as a blindfold test.

He went nuts, "This is GREAT! Is it Yellowjackets?"
I said, "Yup!"
Then he starts humming along with the song! He knows the melody!
I said, "How could you know this song? It was never released!?"
He said, "I lived in L.A. in those days and They (capital "T" because we're talking deity here-) used to play this song live all the time!"

Fun stuff. I'm really glad they did this. Now I want all the outtakes from "Inside Story"
